Message: My name is Bryan Malcolm Hebblethwaite, I live at Arnside in Cumbria. However I was born in Letchworth in Herts.

My father was Bryan Hebblethwaite who was a glider pilot in the war and was killed at Arnhem in 1944 six months before I was born. I never knew my father's family and would like to trace them.

My mothers maiden name was Kathleen Margaret Toleman. I have been in contact with the church where my mother and
father were married and they have told me my grandfather's name was Reginald Sydney (or Sidney) Hebblethwaite.

There are more of us though.  A son known as Richard Lake born 1962. A son Bryan Mark Hebble-Thwaite born 1983 living in Hitchin Herts. A daughter Laura Jessica Hebblethwaite born in 1980 living in High Bentham, Yorks. Married in 2005 at Kirkby Lonsdale church.

Do you have records which can take me back to my grandfather or further?

Bryan's daughter, Laura, had also posted an earlier message on this page:

I'm from Kent, but now living in Lancaster. I'm quite interested in tracing my family back to Yorkshire. I know it was only a couple of generations back.

My grandfather and grandmother are Bryan Hebblethwaite and Kathleen from Letchworth in Herts. Their son, another Bryan, is my father, born in 1945, who married Mary, then Sandra (my mother), then Val, who is his current wife. I have a younger brother, also Bryan, although he is known by his middle name, Mark. He was born in 1983 in Ashford, Kent, and I was born in Aylesbury, Bucks in 1980. My father is currently living in Arnside, Cumbria with his wife and mother.

Bryan would also like to contact his cousin Simon Hamilton, who supplied photos of Bryan's father
